Script: “Use it or lose it”
The first work of Jennifer’s that I noticed was the wooden heart right outside of Intelligentsia, appropriately right around Valentine’s Day. And, I found it funny that someone (Jennifer?) took a picture of said heart on the bus stop pole and made a sticker of it, and then put it on the same pole. How meta.
The subsequent work I saw were the hearts with Los Angeles maps in them. I didn’t put the two together and realize it was the same person for a while. I really like the LA heart maps because, to me, it said that LA is in your heart. Even though I haven’t lived here all that long, I feel at home in LA and that it was always in my heart, even when I didn’t know it, and it will always be in my heart.
After that, I began seeing more variations, like the “use it or lose it” heart and the large wall on Fountain. She has a different take on the heart- anatomical instead of the traditional version- which is always nice to see.
